Barfield wins SkyWest contract reaffirming its presence in the U.S. CRJ Market
Miami, 27 March 2008
Through Barfield, Sabena technics Group debuts the New Year with a contract for the U.S. repair maintenance CRJ market.
SkyWest Airlines - the world's largest independently-owned regional airline providing air service throughout North America - and Barfield have established a 10-year agreement that will launch a partnership in servicing selected avionic equipment and mechanical devices. This contract is based on 119 aircraft and represents exciting new prospects for Barfield in its company strategy with narrow-body and regional aircraft, such as those produced by Boeing and Airbus.
In joining Sabena technics in late 2006, Barfield, through group synergies that were brought on, was able to extend its capabilities to regional aircraft types as well as equally specializing itself in both Boing and Airbus narrow and wide body aircraft types.
"This newly bridged agreement with SkyWest is consistent with Sabena technics' goal to develop our CRJ and regional customer base in North and South America through group synergies," said Christophe Benerdini, Chief Executive Officer of Sabena technics, Barfield's mother company. Frederic Denise, Chief Operating Officer of Barfield added: "SkyWest and Barfield share a commitment to its customers. The contract does not just benefit us; our customers reap its greatest rewards - quality of service and reliability."
